This Recmar® piston ring kit is suitable for Volvo Penta D4 and D6 engines, whose oil ring is 3.00mm thick.  These engines are from engine serial number -A180871 and upwards; thus, their piston is considered "late."  Concerning the D4 engines, 180 HP to 260 HP, and the D6 engines, 280 HP to 370 HP, this piston ring kit will fit only those equipped with the late-style piston.
